Everytime I join two AVI's with VirtualDub the second half of the AVI becomes out of synch. The first half is perfect. I'm using direct stream copy. Does anyone know what else I can do?

So the sound is in synch up until the point where part 2 was appended to part 1. Is it a gradual loss of synch from that point on, or is the sound uniformly out of synch from that point on?
If it were me in that situation, I'd probably extract the soundtrack as a wav file, noting the time where the 2 parts meet. Then I'd open the wav file up in a sound editor and "time stretch" it (splitting it into 2 parts if I was unable to select part 2 seperately) to synch with video part 2.
That's if it was a gradual loss of synch in part 2. If it was a uniform synch problem, I'd probably add silence to (or trim the beginning of) part 2 of the audio to synch it up with the video.
It all depends on what sort of out-of-synch it is.As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
It seems to be uniformly out synch, however both AVIs are fine before I join the two together. I will try your suggestions, Thanks.
