I'm located outside the UK and would like to download the following program:
Using the Chrome extension "BBC iPlayer Proxy", I can watch it in the browser, but after installing the separate BBC iPlayer Downloads application required when hitting the Download link in the page, it fails downloading the show. I attached a screenshot.
But then, since the application runs outside the browser, I wasn't surprised since it probably hits the server directly, using my local, non-UK IP address.
Short of taking a subscription for a VPN in the UK, does someone know of a workaround to download a BBC Two show from abroad?
Edit: The Perl-based get_iplayer mentioned in this thread didn't work either:
