  1. Hi,

I have a habit of converting and editing a lot of videos using X-media Recode.
My system has 16gb of RAM which is not used for encoding/converting or editing because Xmedia Recode is 32bit.

Please recommend software that have native 64bit support and must:
    1. Convert/ Encode videos from to all standard formats.
    2. Allow encoding parameters like ref, gop, profiles etc.
    3. Allow simple Video Editing.
    4. Allow audio pass-through including lossless HD audio.
    5. Allow removal(cropping) and adding(padding) of black bars.
    6. Mux or hardcode subtitles.
    7. Allow saving of only audio and audio conversion/ processing like volume adjustment.

X-media Recode is an excellent software that can do all these but only in 32bit mode using 4gb of max RAM.

    My system:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Sandy Bridge i5 @3.10Ghz Quad core
    16gb DDR3 RAM
    1TB+500gb SATA3 HDDs
    No graphics card

    Thanks in advance

  2. What makes you think using more memory will improve your encoding speed or encoding quality? Are you encoding 8K video or something?

I would like to use all the system resources that I have.

Could you please just share the names of a few alternatives rather than questioning the effect of the extra RAM on the encoding speed or something else?

Now everyone knows extra RAM doesn't do any good in improving the encoding quality.

    Thanks for your reply.
