hey there. here's my question: i have many .avi with a resolution of 352x288 and when i watch them on my computer the picture quality is very poor. now i would like to know if i decoded the movies with the above mentioned resolution, burn it to a vcd, will the resolution still be as poor as it is when i view it on my dvd player? is there a way of using those above mentioned movies and creating a vcd with better quality? i'm really new at this and any help on the subject would be appreciated

You can not improve the quality of the video. You can make almost as good. It's like rerecording a VHS tape. You can never improve the quality of the picture. As the saying goes crap in crap out.
Resoulution is the size of the video, 352 x 288 is PAL VCD, 352 x 240 is NTSC VCD. You cvan learn more by reading the What is and the How to's on the left of this page.
If those AVI were d'ld from the net. Then I would say they are more then likely DivX which uses the AVI extention.May the force be with you.
