I have never had an issue before today with this. I recorded something off my tv, it records in mpeg format. I run it through virtualdub to make it an .avi file, but when it renders, it renders in a 6:9 aspect ratio when that is not what aspect ratio the video is. This hasnt happened before today now its happening with every mpeg file i convert to .avi And i can't seem to get it back the way it was, I don't even know why it started doing it all of a sudden.

What is the actual resolution of the input and output files (eg 720*480 ?)
-
The PAL DVD is always 720*576. That same resolution stores both 4/3 or 16/9 images. The difference is in how the file is handled (stretched)
during playback. You have to resize the avi to take those resolutions into account. For example, 4/3, use 768*576 and 1024*576 for 16/9 -
thanks resize filter worked. Just don't get how i never needed to do it before. oh well at least i can do it again.
