Apparently Funai has still been manufacturing VHS VCRs; at least up until now.

Here's my favorite quote concerning the desirability of VHS over DVD or Blu-ray:
“These are movies that feel too cleaned-up on DVD and Blu-ray, as if they were never meant to look that good,” explained one collector. “You can see the mistakes they made and the bad makeup and everything. Watching them on VHS is closer to the old drive-in or grindhouse theater, the way the director intended it to look.”
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

They that give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety.

Depends on two things
Your definition of delivery and how tuned are your ears
I have bad ears, but I have know music affectionados , that could hear the differences between LP, tape and digital
Digital is good for the average listener of what is currently popular
And doesn't wear out like an LP or tape -

I took that quote to pretty much mean the opposite..... that sometimes the inferior picture quality of VHS has advantages.
I was watching some episodes of an 80's TV show the other day and found myself laughing at some of the stunts because it was so obvious the lead actor was replaced by a guy in a wig. I remember thinking at the time it would have been harder to spot in the analogue CRT days and if you did it wouldn't have stood out as much.
Maybe that's not the greatest example, but I think the point was the inferior picture quality of VHS can hide some of the lower production values. -
We're off topic, but that's what I meant about digital not wearing out
But there is no comparing the avg mp3 to new LP on a $1000 turn table
I will say 5.1 or 7 CH surround with a qualify sound system is just as clean and gives you an immersive sensation as being at the live performance
But again it's all about the money invested in the delivery system -

Sigh. Every studio records to PT in 24/192. DACs have reached the point where even cheap ones are transparent. Anyone who tries to say LP is better than digital is simply uninformed.
There is an argument that can be made that recordings from the 70s and 80s sound better on LP because they were never mastered for CD. But that is a criticism of studios being cheap or the masters being lost or terrible shape, not the CD format.
