I am trying to convert a lot of 50fps dSLR footage to both lossless (Lagarith Lossless Codec) and edit-friendly lossy (x264vfw) files and maintaining the 50fps.
When I am looking at the footage in VirtualDub, the footage 'ends' halfway through. Opening up the same footage in Windows Media Player or Quicktime shows the full length clip.
What should I be doing?

File information correctly shows that it is a 1080P video at 50fps.

Apparently you've got a borked file — maybe a broken index, maybe two or more "sequences" that were joined improperly...

VirtualDub can say much more than that. A MediaInfo report would be more complete, but not necessarily more helpful, if the source file is really broken.File information correctly shows that it is a 1080P video at 50fps.

P.S.: try opening the problematic file through a DirectShowSource Avisynth script, and tell us what happens (or doesn't happen).Last edited by El Heggunte; 18th Jul 2016 at 07:29. Reason: add P.S.

On the Open File dialog try using the Files Of Type pulldown to specify a different source plugin when you open the video in VirtualDub. Or use an AviSynth script to open the video.
