I'm trying to create a menu for my SVCD using VCDEasy-->Tools-->MPEG Stills.

I've tried an image size of 640x480 (as VCDEasy states "Best Initial Size: 640x480") and I just tried 704x480 and both produce the same results...

Yes, it's a porno, so sue me 8) There's nothing revealing in the menu anyway. Above is a screencap direct from the S-Video output of my DVD player, where my SVCD sits right now awaiting user-input. It's off center -- wrapped around at the edges?!

I set the NTSC option, and the Aspect Ratio Correction is 4:3. TV Cropping is 0%.

What am I missing? The video plays fine and chapters/next/previous/return all work exactly as expected, but the menu is doing that funky wrap around thing. Thank god for rewritable CD's!

    Thanks

  2. Not all DVD players support high resolution stills. I suppose the SVCD looks fine on your PC DVD player (if you have one)? If you can, check on someone elses DVD player to make sure it's not an authoring or software problem. Otherwise, I guess I would just experiment more with the options to see what will work on your player - throw a bunch of different MPEG stills on a CD-RW. Try low resolution, change mpeg size, try without the TV correction, try the "hacked" option, etc. You could even try encoding your image with a short wave file (5sec?) in TMPGEnc. It wouldn't be a still, but it would have the same effect.

    Good advice!

I did a bunch of samples, and low and behold... its the "Hacked" option that made the difference.

    SVCD
    Hacked (whatever this option does)
    NTSC
    High Quality

    Works great now! 8)
