I purchase my PhilipsDVDR520H/02 in Spain.I am now in England and it will not play new English Dvd's.I have tried to change the region from 2 to 0 but it still won't play English discs. What am I doing wrong?

Are you saying that you have applied a region code hack to the PhilipsDVDR520H/02?

The earliest hack is from 2004.....that's a long time ago. Are you sure it's not just dead?
CD playing is not the same as DVD playing.

This is not a Region Code issue since both Spain and UK are Region2.

You may well have 'bricked' the player attempting an un-neccessary Region Code change.

Agree with hech54. The laser could be dead. Also, is there any AC issues between Spain and the UK ?

I have received an email from Philips saying my machine has a spanning region code which makes it incompatible with any other Dvd's from other regions.

That's nonsense. As DB83 already pointed out....it's NOT a region code issue.

That may well be true, but you are in the same Region.
