  1. Hello, dear all.

    As the title said, how can I create one single idx subtitle file using several independent / different srt files?

    I mean: I want to create an idx subtitle from several different srt subtitle tracks. In that way I can watch videos / movies in several different languages using one single idx subtitle file.

    Do you know some tools that can do that? Or some methods to do it?

    Thanks.

    Best regards.

  2. Assuming that you mean you want to create graphical Vobsub (IDX & SUB) subtitle files you can first use Txt2Vobsub to create a separate Vobsub for each language and then use VobsubMuxer to join them all together in a single multi-language Vobsub.

    Thanks for the tips! I discovered that I already ask for such solutions before. Forgot completely. My bad. Sorry.

    Convert all srt to individual idx/sub then use VobSubMuxer to combine the idx/subs into 1 idx/sub

    I ) Convert all srt to individual idx/sub:

    ---> http://www.trustfm.net/software/video/Txt2Vobsub.php ( Txt2Vobsub ---> creating srt file to idx vobsub file )

    or

    ---> https://www.videohelp.com/software/Subtitle-Edit ( Subtitle-Edit ---> creating srt file to idx vobsub file )

    II ) VobSubMuxer to combine the idx/subs into 1 idx/sub:

    ---> http://www.trustfm.net/software/video/VobsubMuxer.php ( muxing several idx into only 1 single idx vobsub file )

    or

    ---> https://www.videohelp.com/software/VobSub ( look for VobsubMuxer download link in that site )

    I could find that some older version from Avidemux ( v. 2.4 on the example below ) could do it too. Current version I think lost such kind of feature.

    Could anyone tell me if I forgot something in the installation of Avidemux 2.6.10. I am in language learning and I use movies with subtitles to practice different languages. I want to extract subtitles from movies I already own. I installed Avidemux version 2.6.10. According to the book, under Tools I should see a menu with various options, one of the being VOB -> VobSub. Etc.

    My problem is that under Tools all I see is Scripting Shell.

    Is there any configuration I must change in order for the options shown in the book to appear under the Tools menu?

    Thanks for any help.

    That relates to the subtitle extraction tool from the old branch (i.e. 2.5.x)
    It is no longer ther in the current version (2.6.x)

    The last version that has such feature is something like 2.5.x old branch. The link below provide such versions:

    We can create a complete DVD structure using ConvertXtoDVD ( among similar programs ) and add several srt subtitles tracks on it. After the dvd's structure is created, we can extract the subtitles from it, into one single idx vobsub file, using VSRip or similar tools.

    Thanks for your time!

    Best regards.
