    Hi everyone,

Maybe you can help me out. Ik have mkv files with srt subtitles that contain italic tags.
During playback by my Dune HD Smart D1 those tags are not honoured, for example:

    text in srt-file itself:

    Hello?
    <i>- Hi, it's me.</i>

is displayed by my Dune as:

    Hello?
    - Hi, it's me.

as of course it should be:

    Hello?
    - Hi, it's me.

Does anyone know a solution to this?

    Thanks in advance
    Ennio

How subtitles are displayed is a byproduct of the firmware (ie: how it's programmed to display them).

If it happens to support other formats of subtitles aside from srt files, you could try testing with those and see if they display properly.

Thanks for your reply, Krispy Kritter.

Yes, I would think so to. According to the official site, support is ended for this model, but I just love the machine for its no-nonsense use, speed & quality so I just can't say goodbye to it.

For a lot of videos I always convert to SUP and mux the two of them in mkv. SUP always work for that matter.

In another thread I recently learned about .ass subtitle, with which you can do a lot more. I'm gonna play around with it and see how the Dune will handle those.

    Cheers
