  1. Hello people

I am trying to joing 2 Divx files into 1 and not having much luck !

Firstly I have tried using VirtualDub 1.4.0 (build 13720/release). When I try to load the files I get an error messahe first

    VBR audio stream detection:-

Virtual Dub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with the standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 6186 ms of scew from the video stream.

So I thought OK then, I will convert the Divx into SVCD which is what I want to do in the end, and then join them back together to make 1 file.

I used TMPGE to join the 2 files but when the file was finished, when I played it the audio was fine, but the Video was not infact there were just blocks on the screen ??

Idealy I would like to join the 2 Divx files together first, then convert to SVCD.

    HELP !!!!

    Cheers

    Matt

  2. standard virtual dub can not handle VBR MP3 audio. solution: Nandub or VDub MP3 (it's a specific version that handles VBR MP3). both can be found on www.divx-digest.com. from here you can join them.

but if you are gonna make an SVCD like you said...load the videos in VDub/NanDub and do a File->Save WAV (be sure to set Audio-> Full Processing Mode->Uncompressed WAV) and you will have a large audio file. open TMPGEnc, and load the DivX AVI as the Video Source and the huge WAV as the Audio source. TMGEnc has problems with the VBR MP3.
now that's if you really want to make an SVCD out of DivX, converting formats results in quality loss, some files are way more noticible than others, but all DO lose quality, so it's your choice.
