Does anyone know the current practices of Domain Registrars? I am thinking of buying a Domain name from “namecheap” and transferring it fairly quickly to HostGator, to host, then onto Word Press. Will I have any problems transferring the Domain name to HostGator? I am not familiar with current practices or any techniques to ensure problem free transfer. All help, hints, and insights on the best methods for problem free transfers welcomed.
Cheers visionman

I would ask Hostgator. They have a live chat service (or atleast they did)
I know that they will take a domain registered elsewhere but I guess you will be responsible for renewing the registration whereas when you chose your own name and register it through them they will renew it for you and just pass on the charge. -
Do not use Hostgator (EIG). You'd be making a HUGE mistake!!!

Namecheap is a much, much better registrar. Hostgator is just a host, and NOT a registrar.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)
