  1. Okay here is the problem. I have made every kind of cd-r you can think of. VCD SVCD XSVCD. I have also made them all in different ways. But, no matter what they never play on my ps2. This sucks. I was just wondering if you guys and gals could help.

  2. Actually, I don't own a PS2, but after reading some of the other stuff posted here in the forum on it, it seems that the PS2 only plays MPG-2 files. Although, it has also been said that the PS2 does not play any xVCD's. I have only had one experience with it, and that's my brother's Ps2, and it would not recognize a VCD made with MPG-1 files. But, there might be hope. Go to the DVD Players Compatibility list on the left hand side menu of this website, and search for the PS2. There is a lot of information and debate on the whole VCD issue.

Its my understanding from what I have rad that the PS2 will *NOT* play any form of VCD (xVCD,SVCD,xSVCD,etc...) but will ONLY play DVD.

  4. Forget the PS2, spend $50 or less on a Dreamcast not only will it play VCD's but also Divx and Divx 5.01. Hell of lot more other stuff the OS2 will not. The Dreamcast operating system is Windows CE. It will even play back JPEG's.
