  1. I tried playing an ISO and the seek bar says the video is about five minutes long even though it's really about an hour. The video keeps playing after five minutes but I can't use the bar to skip around. If I do try skipping sometimes I do get to a point later in the video but I'm not sure why. The ISO plays in VLC but I just wanted to get it to work in MPC.

    What is the source of the iso?

    Seeking issues are typically file related. And "iso" doesn't specifically mean retail dvd.

  3. I got it from a retail DVD I have. I don't know what the problem was, but I ended up converting the VOB files to MPG and that worked.

    VOB files already contain mpeg2 video. You can use a tool such as mkv to extract the iso data and put it into an mkv container without losing any quality.
