  1. Hi, I searched and searched and couldn't find a resolution.

Subtitles appear at the default font size, and then again in my custom font style. They turn off just fine, but turning them has duplicate subtitles.

Can someone help me find out how to disable the second stream of subtitles?
    • There is no 2nd Subtitle selected
    • I have tried multiple skins to help resolve - no luck
    • Options >> Device >> DVD/Blu-ray >> Display DVD Subtitles is unselected
    • LAV Splitter Properties has No Subtitles selected

The rest of the details and problematic extra subtitle stream is shown in this screenshot:

Each mkv file acts like there's hardcoded subs, but that's not the case at all

I bet, that problem is MadVR renderer. But I dont know now how to change it... Try different renderer to prove it. Video-video renderer and for example OpenGl.

No, I've had this a few times and I don't use MadVR. For some reason I don't rememeber how to fix it, I recall just playing around with the subtitle settings until it went away suddenly

Edit: OP, not related to your problem but, what skin are you using?

I'm sorry, I don't speak English natively, but it seems to me that the cause of duplicate subtitle is that you are using external codecs to view the video, which causes the internal module of subtitles of PotPlayer press (the subtitles with the larger font) and vsfilter charge the other (caption with smaller font). At least that's what it looks like.

This was exactly the problem. I switched the renderer from MadVR to EVR Custom Present. Now, the duplicate subtitle problem is fixed.

Eventually, I hope to find out the setting in MadVR that causes this issue, so I can switch back to MadVR as the renderer.

    Thank you for your help

    Glad it help you bit
I cant replicated it Maybe you can try inicialize settings, but if you personalize Potplayer too much I dont suggest it to you.
I have 0.9.19 version of MadVR.
+ You can try run as admin "restore default settings.bat" in MadVR09020. If you changed something sometimes in MadVR settings.
