    As far as I can tell, MPC-HC (and most other freeware capture software) only works with VFW encoder filters. If you want to use WDM encoder filters you will need to use GraphEdit, GraphStudio, and similar programs for capture.

    Doesn't Arcsoft have a capture program ?

    Maybe that capture device does not support Direct-to-mkv which is what you appear to be attempting. Most only support mpeg2 or avi.
