    I have an mp4 in which upon play back is displayed the same video on the screen twice, side by side. This does not appear to be a simple cropping problem. How do I get rid of either the left or right play of the video?

    Assuming your player does not have this feature enabled (Virtualdub this is normal) and the video is indeed doubled side by side in a single video, Cropping one side would be the only option that I know of.

    It's probably a 3D video. If so, in addition to removing one half he'd have to also resize the remaining half to bring it back to the correct aspect ratio.
