    What's a good program to grab a few frames from each video and compare them visually...
    Of course it has to be the exact same frame from each movie (time), but you get my gist.

    I have a lot of encodes from different encoders and I would like to run some samples and check the quality by viewing some frames

  2. Pull as many versions as you have into an NLE, stack them on top of each other, switch tracks on and off to see the comparison.

    If the clips are different raster sizes or framerates you may have to do it for each variation to account for resizing and frame blending introduced by your software.
