We have a Sony HDR-CX260V camcorder. We record clients and watch it live on a tv in the next room. We are a mental health facility. I am looking for something that would allow us to use the same camcorder but be able to watch it on a computer via a web browser in another room. So is there something that would use the HDMI connector and using WIFI, be able to view on a computer?

HDMI carries a very large amount of data. You need a solution that can compress the video and audio from the camera for streaming via WiFi. This device may be what you are looking for: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/963885-REG/teradek_vidiu_consumer_camera_top_hdmi_h_264.html
Avoid any solution which does not compress HDMI video and audio. They don't stream over a wireless network or the Internet, and their own wireless connection won't work reliably if the transmitter and receiver are not in the same room with no obstructions between them.
