  1. My colleague is wondering why if she did not tell utorrent where to put the downloaded files, how does it automatically know to put it in "downloads" folder? Is that by system default or something?

    The User/'my computer' Download folder on the C (Boot) drive would usually be the default for most programs.
    But I would use a folder on a different HDD so I don't fill up my boot drive.

    On my computer this is set in Options -> Preferences -> Directories. It has a default locations yes.
