  1. I've got a few DVDs I bought that all have the problem of the subtitles getting stuck on screen until the next subtitle appears, and I'm not sure what to do about it. They're all PAL DVDs, and my Blu-Ray/DVD player is region free. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. Is there a fix for this? It's rather frustrating.

So they play ok on a pc, it's just on the standalone player?

This old thread decided it was the player.

  3. Yeah, when I play the DVDs on my computer they're fine, but it's when I play them on the DVD player they're screwed up.

Sound like a blu-ray player not up to specs due to a custom firmware.

  9. Yeah, it's only been PAL DVDs. Never tried it without HDMI.
