  1. Hi. I want to make sure I'm using Vdub properly as I seem to be having a problem with pane view.
For the clip I'm testing, I've included 'Tweak(sat=0.1)' in the script. In Vdub/View/Pane Layout, I have selected 'Both Panes'. Also, under Vdub/View, I've ticked Input and Output panes (those two different routes for choosing the view is a tad confusing).

Anyway, Vdub now looks like the attached pic. When I click Input Playback, the left screen plays. When I click Output Playback, both screens play. My questions are:
Why is the left screen not full colour given that it's supposed to be the input pane?
Is it the norm for both screens to play during Output Playback?
Is my thinking correct in that I should be seeing the original video and the desaturated video at the same time?

    Thank you.

There is no "Output Playback." From the manual: "The play button with the small "I" only plays the input video; the one with the small "O" previews both the input and the filtered output video."

Avisynth is not part of VirtualDub. It's a separate process ahead of Vdub. All Vdub sees is the filtered video produced by Avisynth.

  3. That makes sense. Thank you.

You can only see a difference if you use "VirtualDub filters" (*.vdf). This may require the video mode "Full processing" (at least this was absolutely required while VirtualDub filters only supported RGB color space; I am not sure if some YUV supporting filters are also available in faster processing modes, like "Normal recompress", today?).
