Will the Sony BDV-EF200 read a Micro SDXC card?
(I mean using a USB card reader. And I've already found that my 16GB Micro SD card works with it in the BDV-EF200. But as I understand it some devices that support SD cards don't support SDXC cards.)

A simple reading of the user manual will tell you that it has nothing to do with reading an SD card (it only has a USB port) - that is the province of the card reader. So whether it can or not depends wholly on which card reader model you have. You didn't tell us the model(s) you own, so there's no way we can determine any further.

Thank you very much for your helpful reply, Cornucopia!
I guess I should have realized this, since the only devices I've had that don't support SDXC have onboard readers.
I'm not actually the owner of the model; I plan to mail the SDXC; I'll ask the (non-techie) owner what the model of his reader is.
I actually did provide in my post the model of my reader (the words "USB card reader" were a link to it, and it is SDXC-compatible); sorry I wasn't more obvious about it, but I wouldn't want to ask (I only embedded the link in case someone wanted to take that upon themselves) anyone to go to the effort of researching on my behalf what I know how to myself anyway.
Lastly, I've downloaded the manual and I don't see anywhere in it yet what you say I would see by "simple reading", but I trust your advice, thanks. I dunno, maybe you're alluding to the mention on p. 59 that the USB port will support "Mass Storage Class devices". -
I am.
Just as a PC might use an external USB CD drive or a USB CD/DVD drive or a USB CD/DVD/BD drive: which types of discs are able to be read is up to the reader drive, not the PC. Note however, the when the filesystem data is passed to through to the PC (when able to be read), which filesystem is usable depends then on the PC. Works the same way here.

Thank you very much once again, Scott!
I think I understand now that I should have asked if the BluRay player (I can't tell from the manual) supports the exFAT filesystem. Anyone know what filesystems the Sony BDV-EF200 supports, please?
