  1. Hi all

I've got a huge library of music videos in AVI (Xvid) format. Most of these were encoded from VOB files that I ran through VideoRedo first to trim off the first few frames and chop off any credits that appeared at the end. The reason for this is that, when I hit play, I wanted the music to play straight away and not have the several-seconds gap that you tend to get (I used to occasionally play the videos off a projector in a nightclub and had a few embarrassing pauses).

A lot of the files I'm getting now aren't in VOB format anymore so I need a new solution to trim the beginning and end frames. Is there a simple free one that'll allow you to do this (without having to re-encode the video and audio and causing degradation) and will work on multiple formats including MKV and MP4?

    Thanks in advance

  2. free one would be avidemux, but it can be a bit buggy, and you have to cut on keyframes

non free ones that are frame accurate (smart render, may encode a few frames around the cutsite depending on where you cut) are videoredo v4, solveigmm video splitter, tmpgenc smart renderer

I mean the more complete, son that you don't need a paid program for this, a paid program for that.

  4. I'll be happy to go with VideoRedo. I already use their MPG one and have done for years, it's amazing...
