I get to the point now that I don't trust any online reviews anymore. The comments they show you seem similar, like made up.

Don't trust them. Ask others if they've used them.
Make a test buy with something small to feel them out. -
Luckily Amazon has a great return policy. I just feel like everybody is an "Affiliate" nowadays.

I see this comment in reviews on Amazon fairly frequently: "This product was provided for free or at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review."
Hmmm....
I read through a fair sample of item reviews and I can usually sort them out. Then I do more research if it's an expensive item. I rarely get 'burned'. -
Yeah, a lot of the positives are touts and some negatives are from people who are clueless about what the product is supposed to do. A detailed review is likely to be more trustworthy as long as it's balanced and mentions some shortcomings of the product. But you'll even find cagey fake reviews that try to appear balanced by giving a few weak, irrelevant criticisms.
