  1. Hi All,

I'm a newby with video stuff. I have record a live church rtsp stream on VLC while its playing to an MP4 file. This works fine, but I have 2 of 5 files there are damaged. There's no tool to repair is. Also the Video Repair Tool from this site. When I try on mp4repair.org it works well, but its really expensive for 2 files with this length. Is VLC not supported on the Grauonline.de tool or can I do something?

Its an MP4 videofile with no sound. When running in the prog it dont show the video on the Repaired Movie Clips list. When I try a good file its olso not showing on the list. Can it happend when there's no sound at all? The errorlog shows this:

    Video repair report

    Hints for a successful repair
•Make sure that you are using two files for your repair 1.Your broken input movie
2.A non-broken sample movie of the same camera (reference movie)

•Study this repair report. It can give you hints why your movie doesn't repair.

    Repair session information
    Input file: D:\Netwerkmap\PKN Flupland\orig.mp4 (1074850291 bytes)
    Reference file: D:\Netwerkmap\PKN\vlc-record-2016-03-13-09h25m36s-rtsp___192.168.1.11_554_ch01.264-.mp4
    Output folder: D:\Netwerkmap\PKN\repaired\

    Entropy scan results
Your complete input file has been analysed in small blocks, and the entropy results show which blocks may contain video data (and which may not). A value less than 0.6 typically means that there is definitively no video data in that block, a value greater than 0.6 means it may contain video data.
start block (KB) - end (KB) -- entropy (must be higher than 0.6 for video data)

    Video scan results
Your complete input file has been analysed for video data and this shows the amount of data found. Note: If no data was found (or less than expected), the entropy scan result above can give you an explanation why no (or not enough) data was found. Video data found: 0 bytes (DEMO version saves only 50% of this)
Audio data found: 0 bytes (DEMO version saves only 50% of this)

    Your reference movie
    Video codec: avc1
    Audio codec:

If there's no codec shown above, or if the entropy scan indicates, that there is video data in your file, but the video scan didn't find any video data (or the repaired movie doesn't play), always check that you are using a correct reference file! The reference movie has to belong to the same camera and it has to be shoot with the same camera settings (video mode, resolution etc.) as your broken file. If you do not have such a reference file, simply shoot a short movie clip using your camera and the same camera settings as your broken movie.
    Playback and import issues
If your complete movie data was found (entropy scan and video scan results are positive), but the movie doesn't play (or import into another video tool) properly, the repaired movie may have encoding errors. In such a case, enable the checkbox 'Reencode repaired movie files', and re-run the scan. After the repair session, the movie will be reencoded.
    Not satisfied with the result?
Actually, there can be two reasons why the repair doesn't work: The camera is not properly supported, or the movie is too corrupt for a repair. Because both cases can appear at the same time, it's always necessary to verify that your camera is properly supported. To do so, try a 'repair' on your working reference file. Choose your reference file as input movie, and no reference movie. If the program properly 'repairs' your reference file, your camera is supported.
