    Hi
This is my first post...I have used this site for many years, but just for DVD Hacks. Now with Windows 10, I have an issue with video files that were captured from TV using WMC. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a reasonable video player/app that can play my .wtv files? I find it interesting that I can play them on a free app from Android, but the Windows 'store' has little choice. If this is in the wrong section, please move to the correct location,
    In anticipation, Thank you

Recent versions of Potplayer and MPC-HC seem to play WTV files, at least they do on my Windows 7 PC. Note that encrypted WTV files won't play outside Windows Media Center, and even then only on the individual PC that originally recorded them

    Hi usually_quiet
Thank you your reply, I see both of your suggestions have a 64bit version. I have windows 10 64bit...should I download the 32 bit or 64 bit?
In anticipation, Thanks for your response

You could use either, or both. The only situation I can think of where it might make a difference is if you wanted to use a particular codec, filter or plugin which did not have a 64-bit version.

    Hi usually_quiet.
I am VERY happy to report that I am now watching .wtv video files on one of our laptops. I installed the PotPlayer 32bit and the quality is wonderful. We all thank you from this household
    Thank you

As far as I know, iDealshare VideoGo can directly play WTV on Windows 10, 8, 7, XP, and Vista and Mac OS X or macOS.
It also helps to convert WTV to a more compatible video format like MP4, AVI, MOV, WMV, MPG etc. So that you can play the wtv anywhere.
