  1. Preparing a number of files for uploading to streaming site (Vimeo)

My original file format was 720x576, 25fps PAL
As a result of processing these are now 960x720p ... and currently at 50fps due to de-interlacing.

I have to do final renders in any event to H264 ..... do I drop frame rate back to PAL rate of 25, or even change it to 30.

I did a test upload of 50, 30 & 25 and Vimeo seems happy with all 3........... just wondering what is best approach.

  2. Youtube can stream 50 fps, so leave it at that.

  3. This is not for Youtube ............ it is Vimeo

Vimeo seems happy with 50 ..... just wanted to check if uploading at 50 gave any problem with any browsers, great if it doesn't.

If it does, screw 'em! Tell your viewers to use a decent browser.

EDIT: Actually, does Vimeo truly support 720p50? The 720p50 and 1080p50 samples I've just looked at from a random search are frame-blended down to 30fps.

Maybe best to check that the file is 'as is' and not converted.

You will have to download it (don't know of another way to check)

or provide a link and we can check for you.
