how do i take out the filename in a mkv file?

I used makemkv to rip a gilligans island dvd but i by accident left the subtitles in the videos. So then I used mkv ...mix. I cant remember the app name to take out the subtitles with that done I then renamed the file and played it through vlc and when it plauyed it had the original file name when it played. Can I either get rid of the filenames when its played or have it use the new file name?? John

Open Mkvtoolnix GUI, click "edit headers" (left side) and open the file. There you can change or remove things like the segment title or track names. After you are finished click "Header editor"(at the top)->"save".
