Looks like it's mostly video, maybe some film in in the background pieces. Nothing screams 16mm to me -- possibly 35mm. Almost certainly more than one kind of aquisition format. The Green screen stuff looks like it was done in a studio with high-end video cameras, propably recording to D2 or Digibeta. Compositing in those days would be done in digital disk recorders like abacus.
