I am trying to split using MKVToolNix but when I start muxing I am getting error messages "Invalid start/end specification for '--split' in '". I was trying to use numbers representing seconds like so.
What am I doing wrong?

You have to use the HH:MM:SS.nnnnnnn (hours and nanoseconds can be omitted) format if you need several splitting points that are not all exactly X seconds apart.
2292s, 2320s, ...
=
00:38:12,00:38:40, ...

I am getting this message "Invalid start/end specification for '--split' in '--split parts:00:38:12, 00:38:40, 00:40:52, 00:41:03, 00:43:52, 00:43:58, 00:57:27, 01:01:15, 01:03:52, 01:04:52, 01:18:41, 01:18:53, 01:21:02, 01:22:30, 01:23:04, 01:23:16, 01:23:40, 01:24:24' (curent part: 00:38:12)." This happened after using the same split mode.

You need the option split after timecodes, providing that you want several clips
-
I used "after specific timecodes" and I got this error message "Invalid time for '--split' in '--split timecodes:00:38:12, 00:38:40, 00:40:52, 00:41:03, 00:43:52, 00:43:58, 00:57:27, 01:01:15, 01:03:52, 01:04:52, 01:18:41, 01:18:53, 01:21:02, 01:22:30, 01:23:04, 01:23:16, 01:23:40, 01:24:24'. Additional error message: Invalid format: unknown character ' ' found."

The invalid character is the space key you have used after each comma. Don't insert any space characters.
