I have ripped 20 years of family dvd’s ,mostly one per year some two (never kept the original files).Because there are many different highlights on each year and I have written an index of each..I have also scanned and indexed many photo slides and photos. What I would like to be able to do is put them all on a portable hard drive and create an index so that when I click an item in the index it would go there and open the photo or play the video.Am I expecting to do too much or is it reasonably feasible? Is there such a program?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

One file for each "index"? Or should the index point to an exact time in a longer video clip?
But I haven't seen anything like that. If you find something let us know.
