Hello,
I'm trying to find a way that I could record an outdoor event (a kids' baseball game) using an external camera, connected in some way to a smartphone, then use the smartphone's 4G internet to live-stream the footage to a couple of dozen viewers overseas. I won't have an external power source, so this would need to use battery power (including an external battery pack). Would need to run for a couple of hours.
I have done this in the past using just a smartphone and ustream, but the camera isn't great, and I am hoping to use a better camera (wider angle lens etc). Just not sure what hardware/software combination would work. My budget is only $200 or so. Not looking for anything like broadcast quality of course.
Any ideas gratefully received !
Thanks
Chris

I don't think it will be that simple. With an android smartphone can you connect an external camera with usb, see https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=infinitegra.trial.usbcamera
But then must it support restreaming with ustream for example. -
Thanks both. I also found http://camerafi.com/app/camerafi-live/ which I will look into.
