    Hi folks,

    Just wondering if anyone has used or knows where to get a PAL VHS test pattern tape, to test old VCRs.

    If you want to check VCRs against spec, you will need a professional alignment tape. Good luck — they are nearly extinct. Perhaps you can borrow/rent one from a nearby tech who does vintage repairs. Otherwise, you'll have to make your own on a machine that you trust. It will give you an idea of a subject VCR's performance compared to the trusted deck.
