I ripped my first DVD , using Smartripper then DVD2VCD then TMPGEnc to encode it and split the mpg. It was a PAL DVD so I set the VCD up the same way. I eventually authored with VCDEasy and burned the BIN with CDRWin.
When I played it in my standalone both picture and sound were jerky but the disc played fine on my PC. I tried using Nero to burn the mpg as vcd but it told me it was noncompliant and I re-incoded it with nero, the disc worked but with some loss of quality also I need to author with VCDEasy to get the FF/REW functions on my DVD to work.
I tried loading the whole uncut mpg into nero and this seemed to be compliant which makes me think something is going wrong when I cut the mpg. I have tried TMPGEnc and Myflix both with the same results.
Any suggestions would be appreciated
