  1. I just received a Samsung BD-J511 Blue Ray Disc Player.

On the rear it has an HDMI jack and an Ethernet jack.

I am unable to configure my computer monitor / TV to watch it.

So I would like to directly connect it to my PC.

I have one PCIE x4 slot available in my desktop PC.

Can anyone recommend an appropriate card to in this slot?

    Thank you for your help.

That HDMI is output only. Do you have an HDMI input capture card on your PC? If not, you cannot connect.
Can you afford a Blackmagic Decklink type card?

Network may be usable for LAN DLNA streaming if you have it configured right.

  4. The Blackmagic Decklink type cards are much too expensive.

@mobile1 lets look at problem #1 first before complicating things by adding a pc to the equation. There are a few reasons why you may not be able to show the blu-ray video e.g. resolution, connector compatibility, hdcp compliance, settings on either the player or display device or cabling. You referred to your display device as a monitor / tv so which is it?

Please post the brand and model number of your display.

btw) Is that the correct model for your BD player? It doesn't show in a google search

There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

Does you monitor have a spare HDMI input? What's the make/model?
