Hello All,
I spent a couple days going through various post on A/V sync issues but most of them discuss how to fix after the fact. Is there a better tool to use for converting say a mp4 or mkv or avi even to DVD for playback on a set top DVD player that performs pretty well and not known for having sync issue? I'm just trying to do a basic conversion. I don't care about menus etc. I just want to same to video to DVD format.
I know this is a problem that many people experience as well as I know lots of people successfully convert without issues. I'm sure the specs for the system being used to do the conversion plays into it as well. I'm using an Intel i5 3570 with 8GB RAM and 1GB on the video card. I've used many different tools but the latest was DVDFlick.
Maybe sync issues is a standard issue that just has to be corrected which I've tried that too and it didn't fix the issue. I used the steps from here https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/311331-How-to-fix-audio-out-of-sync-in-a-DVD-withou...y-reconverting.
If that is the case and it's just a matter of fixing the issue, can someone please point me to a step by step process that has consistently worked for them? I'm so desperate to resolve this that it doesn't matter if the tool is free or comes with a cost. Well, I guess based on the cost will determine how desperate I really am.
I really appreciate any help that may be offered. I know this is probably one of those questions that folks say "oh no, not again". Please be patient...
Thanks,
Ronnie

Apparently, your 'sources' are downloaded and there's no telling if the guys that made them even knew what they were doing. You get what you pay for.
Most people that use all-in-one programs don't use DVD Flick but AvsToDVD. There's no guarantee you'll fix the problem by using a different and better program, but at least the problem won't be occurring because of the program you use.
I'm sure the specs for the system being used to do the conversion plays into it as well.
And as davexnet suggests, please provide the MediaInfo information of a typical file that winds up with the audio out of synch. Progressive audio asynch can be difficult to fix but the usual procedure is to first 'stretch' it so that its length matches that of the video. You might also try and compare the video length before and after with the audio length before and after to find out which one is the cause of the problem. It's almost always the audio at fault, though.
