  1. I download couple of movies from kazaa and i tried to encode the avi to mpeg using tmpgenc and it said file not support or it can't open what should i do

    load the avi in virtualdub, and go to file-->file properties
    that will tell you the codec that was used for the avi...make sure you have that one installed. there's a good selection of codecs under the tools section here
