Hey guys. Lately I've been having trouble with adobe audition which is weird because I've been using it for years.
I record a rather lengthy podcast (> 2hrs) and before too long the recording bar (little white line) starts falling further and further behind the actual recorded amount of audio. I've noticed at times it gets beyond 1 minute behind on the recording.
This seems fine but then upon listening to the recording it is riddled with these little "snags" where its like a fraction of a second of audio is missing at random locations. It's like it gets too far behind in the recording and causes a poor recording.
This is a pretty fast laptop. 8GB i7 core, but I am also streaming live video in HD the entire 2 hours over our internet (which also fast).
Still, why is this happening, after 6 years of using audition this never happened and now its been a problem the last 3 weeks.
Any ideas?

Check for unexpected software (spyware etc), check for dirvers (maybe something updated last few weeks) etc... looks like issue with OS.
You may start to search for issues for example with latency on your system - http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml -
Make sure your temporary drive (as defined in Audition preferences) has plenty of unfragmented space. You might also check the size of your WAVE cache. More ideas at this Adobe page.
