Conversion of divx to mpg : Please help

I am new to the vcd scene and want to know is there a program to convert divx movies to mpg. I tried TMPGenc but it says it can't recognize the format. Is there anything to make this conversion. Please help

normally TMPEG should recognize the format. Your DivX might be corrupt. Try using a prog like DivFix or VirtualDub to see if you need to reconstruct the index. good luck!

TMPGEnc works just fine. If it doesn't, it's not a real DivX or the stream is broken.

Make sure you've installed he DivX codecs. If you can play the DivX on your PC using e.g. Media Player; TMPGEnc must be able to open the file too since it's using the same codecs. You can download the codecs in the "Tools" section on the left.
