Further to my own comment there, I have only just discovered that if you upload a 4:3 clip to You Tube with those dimensions, then You tube will encode it as HD -- so there should be no need to add borders, to force it to 1280 x720.

If you upload as 768 x 576, then You Tube will encode as SD, and at a lower quality.

I'm not sure it was always like this? (YouTube is, for example, is fine with 50fps files these days... that certainly didn't use to be the case!)

In any event, a file uploaded as 960x720 appears to be look identical to the same file uploaded 'letterboxed' as 1280x720.

So, if you start with 960x720 clips - rather than 768x576 - then looks like there is no need to letterbox after all...

I've uploaded couple of short clips to illustrate the point.

Links below (from a VHS capture, so not very high resolution)

What would I set under the MT command ?

I have been running using the SetMTMode(5,12) but see in many scripts SetMTMode(5,0)

I know that (5,12) = 12x logical cores however what does (5,0) mean .... does it have a specific meaning ? .... or does it simply make it run non-multithreaded
