Recently I bought me a copy of this soft. Unfortunately, they did not warn me,
it was no good on subtitles for Mac version...the leit-motiv of my buying.
I accepted swapping for PC version, much to my desliking...
Now I get nothing when try to run the application...it hangs since start.
I have had several answer from Xili, including sent thru ftp (theirs) copies of
files used...subtitels...etc. and have NEVER gotten an answer.
Is Xilisoft out of business? Broke? Wrong personnel?
    What do I do next?
    Has anybody got an answer?

Yep. Use instead handbrake, vidcoder and xmedia recode. All free!

All three work with subtitles. You might describe your subtitle problem and someone here should be able to give you information about subtitle usage.

And perhaps attach the subtitle to the post.

But why can't you not just have what-ever-player you're using have displaying the subtitle? I guess the reason for re-encoding is to get harcoded subs?

    I sure can, amigo...but:
I need inserted subs to have relatives see the video files in their native language. Simply
