    Anyone rich enough to have played with the Roland VC-30HD? what are your impressions? :
    Although it has HDV and MPEG-2 TS capture capabilities compared to the VMC-1 that does only DV it is still limited to 4:2:0 chroma subsampling so much for $1500 deck.

    Says the max for SD MPEG-2 bitrate is 12Mbps and there are no proc amp controls. No TBC? All around, a step down for SD purposes.

    Yep it is useless even for HD compared to the MOTU HD Express It requires a laptop with expresscard port though.
