Hi all,
I just wanted to pass along an issue that I was having with StaxRip. Great program just ran into an issue I couldn't figure out. Just thought if I posted this up that it might help someone out in the future. First and foremost I should say that I am not a videophile and honestly just want good quality and a reasonable file size. I shoot for 4gb range for a 2 hour movie or 4K kbps.
I capture video using my Hauppauge HD PVR 2 with the Hauppauge Capture program and the below settings.
Hauppauge HD PVR 2 HDMI input
H.264 video
mpeg 1 layer 2 audio
video quality of 11 mbps
.ts container
My audio taking the above file would be WAY off every time I encoded something with StaxRip into H.265 with NVENC. I found a simple solution to remux the container from .ts to .mkv with VideoReDo and not StaxRip re-encodes work great.
Anyhow, thought I would pass this along. Happy to answer any other questions just spent hours searching and trying so thought I might save someone that.
Brad
