  1. Hi, does anyone on here fix video's for a fee?

I have a WMV that I'm struggling to do anything with. It's my sons first steps from 10 years ago and I don't any other copy so it's quite important!

I have looked as asfbin and things but it's a bit complicated for me.

Basically the file plays just black with no sound, but it is showing the right duration (22 secs) so I'm hopeful that there is still something there that might be recovered.

If anyone could help I would appreciate massively (As would my wife!!)

  2. Perhaps attach it to a post.

    How do you play it?

  3. What was the original source, and how was it "damaged" ?

Did you try any other players, such as VLC, potplayer , MPCHC, WMP ?

22 seconds probably isn't too large, if it's not too personal and you don't mind uploading it here, someone will look at it to see if anything can be done

  4. Thanks guys, I have attached it here. It was originally recorded on a DV camcorder but the original file always worked as far as I remember. Have tried playing it on VLC, windown movie maker etc

As I say, if anyone can work some magic on it I would be eternally grateful, but i understand it may be a lost cause.

  5. Unfortunately, there is no useful video data. The file is too small. The audio alone is 178kb of the 199kb filesize. (normally the video data is many times larger than audio)

How did it become a wmv ? If that is your only version (ie you no longer have the DV file or tape), you're out of luck

  6. yeh, I thought that when I uploaded it that it looked a bit small! I guess I'll have to try and hunt through all my old DV tapes and hope it's on the end of one somewhere.

Thanks for all your help though.
