    Hi guys

    Bought new video recording device.

    Was shocked by playback.

    Tried on VLC and WMPC.

    Same result.

All my other videos and downloaded movies come out fine.

Says in the instructions recommend storm codec... Cant find anywhere.

Take a look at the quality.

Any ideas how to fix?Click image for larger version

Since you have given no information as to whether your "video recorder" is a camera, DVR, VCR. screen capture utility or box of crayons it's a little hard to guess. Could be improperly interpreted color space. A brand and model number, please?

  3. I suggest you upload a video sample. And tell us what color the objects should be.

Does it make any difference if the intruder is in yellow or green instead of flesh ?

  5. If you search for "storm codec" you'll see it's a codec pack.

Be on the lookout for an intruder with red hair wearing blue pants and a pink shirt.

Of course it can matter if the colors are correct.

In any case, if the camera is faulty you want to return it and get another, or a refund. You need to figure out whether the problem is the camera or your decoding of the video.

Noticed that the seller offers these 'toys' for different country's power supplies.

Yes, the OP should accept a defective camera because in some scenarios color doesn't matter in a security camera.
