  2. vlc can convert videos as well. Since it can play the file it should be able to convert it

    It uses ffmpeg libraries, so anything using ffmpeg should be able to convert it also e.g. winff, xmediarecode, ffqueue, tencoder, dozens more GUI's etc...

  5. Im really sorry about that, my mistake was a bit embarrassing so I thought I would delete this useless post.
    I probably spent 8hrs to find a software that would accept my .ra file.
    Turns out all I had to do was change it to .rar and extract the file.
    I had no idea VLC could play rar files. Thats what got me on the wrong track.

    Thanks for posting the solution.

    And I don't think that so many knows what a rar file is nowadays....especially when it's named .ra. And then it magically works with VLC media player and nothing else.
