Mini DV edit help

I need to edit my DV files and join two files together before encoding for DVD burning.. I have tried Vdub and get this error when I select append AVI Segment:
The segment has a different set of streams. The file I am appending was edited with Vdub and saved as AVI, and also as Old Format AVI but both get the same error.

AVI Demux won't do DV files. My files have a .avi extension when saved from the camcorder, but are really DV.

If saving DV using VirtualDub, there has to be for video and audio "Direct Stream Copy" selected. If not. You store uncompressed avi and that you cannot join with DV avi.

I've done direct stream for both audio and video and get that error.
