Anyone know why a video created by ffmpeg as 424x240, measures 424x240, is shown by Media Info (bubble at right below) as 424x240 but Windows 7 Explorer shows as 432 x 232?
And maybe a moderator can explain why this post keeps appearing and then disappearing for long periods from new posts?

Budsman1, I wish I had the knowledge to answer your question. But I wanted to thank you for your post/thread, simply because I was wondering how your Flv video was displaying any info in the windows shell. Flv and Mkv display zero information for me in windows. That's when I realized that I had been using Mediapreview, which apparently hasn't been updated since 2014. So I just now switched to Icaros. I once again have no knowledge to answer your question. So let me sound like most support line calls. Have you updated your "Icaros" lately or "Mediainfo?
This film is presented in it's original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The black bars at top and bottom are normal. (it's you that isn't normal) -

Baldrick and Mr.Delusional Thank you for your replies. They were very helpful and much appreciated. I thought I'd leave my resolution as well for others. I realized that not only did the information not match but Vitualdub died with an unknown error each time I tried to load an MP4 through an Avisynth script. This used to work fine. ( I don't allow things that fail on my 'Puter LOL) . The worst failure was that the program I wrote that does most all that people request here would not play MP4 videos through directshowsource either. It posted an 'wMultiOf cannot be zero' message even if I tried to set the wMultiOf setting.
And , yes, I'm aware that DirectshowSource is a crap Avisynth use but most people have one if their computer plays the videos at all so I wanted it to work.
I also built in the FFmpeg2Source as well but again, I wanted DirecvtShow to work as well.
It appears that one one the 'free' programs I was trying out altered or damaged one of the Directshow codecs. I'm not sure which one because even swapping out different ones caused the same error. Best I could pin point was that GraphStudioNext said my computer was using 'Async' as its directshow codec for MP4.
Long story short, I removed my damaged and missing codecs and reloaded them and everything went back to normal. Now GraphStudioNext displays Lav codecs as the directshow as it should.
